Lately, I've been yearning so much for a good chamber music group to play with. I haven't played cello period in quite a few months, oops. I really miss the days where I used to go to a music school and there would be other kids my age, we would make amazing music together everyday (soooo taken for granted).

If you aren't into classical music, I would totally suggest listening to some of my favorite pieces (I've played every single one of these!!):
1. Villa-Lobos - Bachianas Brasileiras No. 1I'm a bit biased, but this is one of my favorite pieces I've played like ever. Why? It's written for 8 cellos! A very rare and unique piece. I prefer the second movement the most because it sounds very bittersweet.
2. Borodin - String Quartet No. 2"
This Borodin string quartet is very popular. It was actually written as a love letter to his wife, Ekaterina Protopova. The first movement is very delicate, but you can definitely hear the love pouring out in the third movement as well.
3. Dvorak - "American" String Quartet
Another very popular string quartet. Dvorak, pronounced like deh-vor-zhak, wrote this piece a year after moving to New York. I think the melody in the first movement is quite interesting. The main motif just sounds fun to me. In the second movement, the best part is at time stamp 12:00. You can hear the intense pain in sadness throughout the piece but also something that kind of feels like relief.
4. Mendelssohn - String Octet in E flat major, Op. 20
Yet another iconic piece, you don't come across octets as much in chamber music but this is probably the most well known one. When I played this piece, not only was it fun to almost act like 2 quartets playing at the same time but also simultaneously in certain parts (idk how to explain it lol). The first movement's character is very proud and then towards the fourth movement it feels more carefree.
5. Dvorak - Piano Quintet No. 2, Op. 81
This piece takes you on such a crazy journey honestly. I lowk don't even know how to describe it because it feels so intense to follow the story the music tells you. #banger
6. Grieg - String Quartet No. 1, Op. 27
This one is ACTUALLY crazy intense. The character of this piece is very animated as it feels both very direct/hard hitting and youthful. The beginning will blow you away.
7. Turina - Piano Trio No. 2, Op. 76
If you like something more mysterious this piece is for you~. Turina is not actually considered classical because he is a 20th century composer. I'd describe this piece as very colorful and shimmery (specifically the first movement).
8. Mendelssohn - Piano Trio No. 1
In my opinion, this whole piece is very moving. Lowk if you skip to the second movement holy sob fest (9:47). T-T
9. Smetana - Piano Trio in G minor
Another very fun sounding piece, the first movement definitely requires strong players to convey the feeling of grief and anguish. I also just like this piece because smetana means sour cream LOLLL.
10. Debussy - Piano Trio in G major
Best for last, this piano trio is very romantic!!! Very flowy and young is how I'd describe it. Chat, if y'all read this with your fanfics or wtv, trust, it'll make you yearn. I lurv the first and third movements, however the second one tells a different story to my ears. It feels more like tiptoeing romantically, so sort of cautious or hesitant.
